Week 3 Recap
Week 3 Recap

TPO Reformed vs Maelstrom Esports - A classic series of Maelstrom takes forever to end games and Reformed just seems all over the place. God of Chaos was a huge standout player for me this week as I have thought of Forty as the only carry player on Maelstrom, but I have been proven wrong. Curious to see how Maelstrom looks when they start playing the upper half teams

SG Proton vs Conduit Crashout - Fenbach is hot, that is all. In all seriousness SG looked good after their loss previously but I am worrying for Crashout. They are making some roster swaps for future weeks but will need to really shape up to make a playoff push.

The High Council vs Monkeys Construction - Construction looking like a solid playoff team, and BIG NEWS popped off this week. High Council is still a team that interests me and am hopefully to see what they can be through the rest of the season.

Imperial Gaming vs Monkeys Knights - Monkeys Knights are clearly the best team in Plat and IG continues to slide. I think IG needs to make some roster changes if they want to make a playoff push as they seemed very uncompetitive versus the Knights.

Eclipse Valkyries vs Dorado Lambda - Dorado finally bounces back after picking up the best mid in plat. Dorado will be on a surge and hunting for a high playoff seed. Eclipse seems to be faltering after their week 1 win and have made some roster changes for future weeks.

Conduit Flux vs Monkeys Sharks - Flux showed up to play this week and got the “upset” vs Sharks. Yukino had his worst match to date by far, seeming like Socks knew how to handle him in this match up. Archer played solid, in his first series I believe, but Tort was able to keep up the whole time. This was the best series in the week and I expect the Sharks to bounce back.

Conduit Kraken vs TPO Redemption - Top sub for Kraken made the series a bit rough for them. TPO did play well so I can’t take all the credit away from them by just saying a sub, but I think if Kraken had full roster they would win. Maybe we’ll find out in playoffs, but congrats Redemption, maybe I don’t know ball.

Contingent Purple vs Monkeys Inc. - I continue the remark that Contingent needs to change their abbreviation. Monkeys looked super good in their series, dominating on a style of play they are known for. Grim looked dominate in this series and am curious if he can vs Kraken this week.

Maelstrom Platinum vs Imperial Gaming - Maelstrom continues to get to play against lower half teams so I am expecting them to win again this week. If IG wants to get the win Azure and Sid will need to control God of Chaos in bot lane while Paradigm and Swaggy will need to win the 2v2 vs THE GOD MAW and Forty. I think IG will have another tough series ahead of them but Maelstrom despite being undefeated have shown signs of weakness at points. If IG manages to get an early advantage they can just use that to snowball for a win but if the game is even around 25 minutes Maelstrom has the advantage.

Monkeys Knights vs Conduit Crashout - Crashout are moving some pieces around with moving Glada to jungle and Slappy to ADC but sadly I do not think it will be enough to. Monkeys have looked like the clear cut number 1 team we have this season so it will be a lot of work for Conduit to get the upset tonight. This could be the roster change that could get Conduit to get an upset win but I think the bot lane of Godsun and FallenxWarrior has been too strong and I don’t think Slappy and Hedge will be able to come out ahead in the 2v2.

Monkeys Construction vs TPO Reformed - Reformed has another roster change coming into this week but despite that I do not think they are a match for this Construction roster. I think Construction is a really solid roster and continue to impress me. I think JayJ specifically has surprised me the most as he role swaps all the time so I was skeptical at his jungle proficiency at the start of the season but he has been solid every week besides week 1. I think this should be another easy week for Construction as we pass the halfway point of the season.

SG Proton vs The High Council - SG should be the easy favorite in this matchup but knowing these guys they can find a way to mess it up and lose.  The High Council is a team that has surprised me so far this season, looking competitive vs teams I thought should have the easy upper hand against them but sadly I don’t think THC can make the playoffs. If SG plays their normal style Yomi will be the leading actor for the SG boys. Fenbach did crush it last week and if he does that again this week it makes it hard for THC to shut down just one side of the map.

Zaun -

Conduit Flux vs Eclipse Valkyries - Flux has been one of our stronger teams so far this season, not having one player being their stand out but playing a much stronger macro game and team game. Panda is the driving force the way this team plays, making them not look as flashy as some of these other teams but still being absolutely dominant in their wins. Eclipse on the other half have been wavering in their games and are making some roster changes to try to bounce back, but they will be swinging up tonight trying to beat one of the top half teams. This match will be interesting but I think Eclipse really has to step up to win tonight.

Dorado Lambda vs Contingent Purple - Contingent has sadly looked like one of the weakest teams in Plat while Dorado is on the rise with Ultimice being back and picking up Gabe Leo. Dorado is still a team that I think is one of the strongest we have tonight and with their roster changes they are a team that seems to have no weakness now. Contingent really has a tough matchup tonight and will have to improve across the board to be able to get a win tonight. I think they would need to play throught bot lane and hope that Neonsword can carry as I think bot is the weakest spot that Dorado has.

TPO Redemption vs Monkeys Sharks - I think if the Sharks hadn’t been streamed already this would be our streamed match this week as I think this is the best series we have. Sharks will be looking to bounce back after a loss while TPO will prove not to be frauds that can only beat top half teams when they have subs. Yukino and Pinkpwnguin will look to be a strong 2v2 again and control the strong point of the map that TPO has with Pelli and LordJK. Edojun and Finalcaptain is another interesting matchup but with it being top lane junglers will be ignoring it unless one of these laners can create a strong enough lead to drag their jungles top side. I think this series should go 3 games and can go either way.

Monkeys Inc. vs Conduit Kraken - I still believe that Kraken is one of the best teams we have in the league and I think playing with a sub last week made them have a bad showing. Monkeys Inc is a team that keeps bouncing around in my personal rankings as they are kind of a gatekeeper team, losing to top half teams and beating the bottom half teams. This series will be focused around the bot lane as I think that is clearly the strongest side of the map of both teams. Grim Dafyre and FoxStepBro will really need to create significant pressure with their playing style vs ChromeAlone and IllictRaven to help Monkeys Inc to get over the finish line. I think this will be a great series tonight and whatever team can get their bot lane ahead should be the team to win the series as a whole.
