BOL Plat Week 6 of Cheong Chiming In

With the season getting closer to the playoffs, and teams playing for positioning these last 2 weeks should be very interesting. At this point only 1 team has been eliminated from playoff contention and no teams in Zaun have been locked in for a playoff spot yet, so these last 2 weeks should be bangers.

Conduit Crashout vs The High Council - Both of these teams still have a chance to sneak into playoffs but whoever ends up losing will most likely be eliminated from playoffs. This series Conduit should do more of what they did last week and play for their bot lane of WURD STEPBRO and Hedge as they were the driving forces last week, but honestly every lane won for Conduit last week. THC has a solid bot lane and can be a win con for the team but Ya KB is the guy to watch vs them. Strong laner and knows when to make roams for plays so Cyclone will need to focus on keeping him under control to make the rest of his team have an easier time. The jungle matchup of Glada vs Lokrakil is interesting as they are both gank focused jungle so whichever one of these two can have more successful ganks will be a bigger factor in this must win series for both teams.
Monkeys Knights vs TPO Reformed - TPO is in life or death mode going up against the best team in Plat currently, so they will need to make an upset happen. If the Knights get another 2-0 win and teams below them both drop a game they should be locking up the first seed tonight going into playoffs. TPO is once again playing with a different roster this week, so I am curious how they will be looking vs the Knights. TPO should look to keep Kaiser in control during the laning phase and try to outperform in team fights as Knights really have no weak spot in their current gameplay. Knights should just look to play the same way they have every week; get Kaiser and Wall St ahead while Steelfan is a rock in the top lane to hard win in the mid and late game. Sadly I think TPO playoff hopes will be snuffed out tonight, but anything can happen in league.
SG Proton vs Maelstrom Platinum - SG Proton still has a road to lock up first seed but need Knights to start dropping games while they look to not lose any games themselves. Proton will be playing for Yomi as normal, but don’t be shocked if they send focus up to top side as Fenbach has been a monster over the past couple of weeks. Alf will look to get on his champs that help him enable his teammates but also be a secondary carry himself. The addition of Swevil makes this team stronger than it was previous as Swevil is a vocal player but can also carry games if he gets himself an early advantage. Maelstrom has been floundering the last 2 weeks with roster subs and making their playoff spot look like its slipping from their hand. Maelstrom should try to play for God of Chaos and make sure Forty has a good mid lane matchup to be the carries for the team that they were in previous weeks. This series might be close if Maelstrom looks back in form, but if they aren’t SG will stay in the position to try to steal first seed from Monkeys Knights.
Imperial Gaming vs Monkeys Construction - Construction is another team that can steal first seed away from their sister team in Monkeys Knights, but they need to focus on themselves. Construction is a strong team that has a carry top laner in BIG NEWS who can hard carry you a game, or kind of just go even and exist in the game. The bot lane for Monkeys is the weak point of their team, in my eyes, but it doesn’t mean they are a bad bot lane duo at all. They don’t play to hard stomp lane but look to go even and then scale into the late game to carry, even if its Kora or Gopamine playing adc. Cement(JayJ) will need to keep doing what he’s been doing and having solid game play, looking to get BIG NEWS and Nightmare ahead as those two are the main carries for this roster. IG has been bouncing back and forth in the way they have looked every week. They will have a hard matchup across the board this week, but need to play for Azure to carry this game for them. Kotori will need to be a strong weak side player this week because if he loses lane to BIG NEWS it will snowball into something worse for his team. Paradigm should look to get on his comfort picks to either win lane or play to enable his teammates this week, but that is easier said than done. IG needs this win to help their playoff chances, but it will be rough.
Zaun -
TPO Redemption vs Contingent Purple - TPO Redemption is a scary team to face up against, as they have a strong macro game that makes it very hard to punish them. They can carry from any role week in and week out, it all depends on who gets ahead for them. Edojun is a top laner who showed up in week 1 and then had a small slip, but has shown why he is a top laner to be feared going into a series. Pelli and TheLordJK should look to grow a 2v2 advantage for themselves and then look to use that pressure to enable Fini or Edojun, whoever is more ahead than the other to have an easy time in this matchup. For Contingent Purple, they have sadly been eliminated from playoffs but can look to play spoilers for the rest of their division. They should look the play for Neonsword as they have shown to be the most consistent player for this team and they could carry them to a victory. Urameshi and Drakkenrich should look to keep their counterparts in check and do whatever they can to help Neon carry them to their first series win.
Monkeys Sharks vs Eclipse Valkyries - Sharks are the heavy favorite in this matchup but the Valkyries are not a team you can sleep on. For Sharks they should play Yukino and Dark Frenzy as they have every week but they are the strongest players on this roster. PinkPwnguin needs to step up his gameplay hasn’t looked great over the last couple of weeks, but this is the best team for him to do that against as we head for the playoffs. Valkyries are weird to me, because they look good only for half of the games they play. Their drafts are not great as they lack an identity or a solid engage option that wins game in Plat. Furdi can carry for this team, but he needs some help somewhere else on the map and I think that can be Solram. I think Valkyries can make an upset happen, but they need to clean up their drafts and gameplay to make that possible against a strong team in the Sharks.
Conduit Kraken vs Dorado Lambda - Two teams fighting for one of the last playoffs spots, two new top lakers, a new jungle for Kraken as the messiah JesusJucie13 has returned, you can’t write a better script than this. Kraken got a big win for them last week, but need another one this week vs Dorado who are fighting for their lives to stay in the playoff race. Kraken should be playing for Chrome and Raven, but with adding JesusJuice it give you a carry option in the jungle to also enable and play for, making their gameplay less one dimensional. Dorado took a bad loss last week, and now they have dropped Ultimice to pick up last season finalist runner up in Narva, who is making his way back to BOL Plat. I think overall this is a lateral move as Narva and Ultimice have similar play styles but Dorado needs to clean up their drafting a little bit, as last week they went with the 0 engage comps which makes the game harder for them to play. This is my number 1 series for the week, and I wish I could watch this action to see who gets the win tonight.
Conduit Flux vs Monkeys Inc - Two teams battling for first seed in Zaun get to face off tonight to start creating space for themselves. Conduit Flux is a team that wins through strong macro gameplay and solid laning. Tort popped off last week and will need to do that again this week versus the Monkeys. Aminarc is the player I am watching for Conduit this week since he is going up against Charlie, who has been a beast over the last couple of weeks. Aminarc can carry games for the side of Conduit, but tonight he needs to keep Charlie in check so that they cannot take over the game and series as a whole. Monkeys Inc has been surging over the last couple of weeks and will need to do what they have been doing against a strong team in Flux. Charlie needs to get on his champs that can help either carry the team, or set up Grim to carry. Grim and FoxStepBro will do what they always do and draft double range bot lane and play to just get a large advantage in laning phase and use that to carry mid and late game. This is a pivotal series for both team, so whoever shows up better on the day should be getting the win tonight.
