Monkeys Construction vs Monkeys Knights - What I thought was going to be a much closer series the Knights showed their sister team that they were not close competitors. Godsun went absolutely insane and hard carried his team to victory in both games, but did get some help in game 1 from Small News and Wall St. Construction will have to look to bounce back after a rough week 1 and re establish themselves as a top half team.
Conduit Crashout vs Maelstrom Platinum - What I expected to be a Conduit win was not. I do hope Glada is safe after getting ganked by Tornado, just a Janna diff I guess. Despite losing 0-2 Cyclone looked rock solid in both games, and Hedge shocked me with how competent he was as a support player. I do think under normal situations this series would be different but Forty and the rest of Maelstrom should be happy with how their mid played. Forty went bonkers in this series and was the only reason his team ends week 1 with a win.
Imperial Gaming vs SG Proton - SG gets the win but did not look clean in either games. Yomi looked like his old safe and ends week 1 with one of the best KDAs across the whole league. I think if SG didn’t have Yomi this week IG would have beaten then but that was not the case. IG focused down on Alf in game 2 but let Yomi run free. Even with how strong Paradigm started on Vex in game 2 it did not matter. Both teams have a lot to clean up getting ready for week 2, but should have moments to be proud of in this series.
The High Council vs TPO Reformed - The High Council shocks me in week 1 beating the breaks off of Reformed. A team I knew nothing about coming into week 1 looked solid, and like they could contest for 1 of the playoff spots if teams don't respect them. All of their players played solid and now that Lokrakil added THC to his league name they might be unstoppable. For Reformed….yeah just look to next week. Drafts were not good, gameplay was subpar, and just overall what I thought would be an okay team was not. Maybe they can bounce back but if they draft like this they won’t do much this season.
Zaun -
Conduit Kraken vs Conduit Flux - This might have been match of the week, and Kraken is showing that people should be worried about them this season. Chrome and Raven looked exactly like the bot lane duo I expected them to be. The rest of Kraken played well as well, especially Coach in game 2 and 3 where he popped off. Aminarc played well in game 1 on Gwen carrying his team to the win, but the rest of Flux, including Aminarc, didn’t look great in games 2 and 3. Kraken will look to carry their momentum into week 2 and play around Chrome and Raven while Flux will have to rebound and get back on track.
Monkeys Sharks vs Monkeys Inc - Sharks look better then I expect and Inc looks worse then expected. Pwnguin played well in his jungle debut but LEC mid laner Yukino is the reason that Sharks won. Carried on both Viktor and Veigar, dropping a 20 bomb in game number 2. This series probably could have gone to 3 but Sharks were able to get it done in 2 on the back of Yukino. My biggest issue with Monkeys Inc is FoxStepBro’s champ pool, as he plays only mage supports while what wins in this elo is engage. The rest of his team isn’t draft engage so it makes it hard for them to do anything in games. Curious to see what they do going forward.
Eclipse Valkyries vs Contingent Purple - We got to do something about this Contingent them abbreviation…but regardless Valkyries were able to pick up the series win. Furdi was the stand out player for Valkyries for me while NeonSword for Contingent was their stand out. Both ADCs played well this series, but it’s always hard to look good in loses but Neon looked the best for their team. I think Contingent can be a solid team, but I need to see more from them, while Valkyries are showing why people were talking about them coming into the league.
Dorado Lambda vs TPO Redacted - Support sub playing top lane, next series.

Monkeys Knights vs SG Proton - This series will be all about bot lane, as 2 of the best ADCs we have in plat are facing off. Whoever gets the lead between Yomi and Godsun will be the reason that their team gets the win in this series. I think both of these guys are great mechanically and have already shown that off this season. FallenxWarrior and Draconical will do what they need to to enable their duo’s and make sure they have the advantages that they need. Alf vs Wall St will also be interesting as both of them have similar play styles, wanting to enable side lanes and be secondary carries for their teams, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to ego each other and duke it out in mid lane.
TPO Reformed vs Imperial Gaming - Another series where I will be watching the ADCs. Azure didn’t have the best debut on his role swapped position while Ziggie has to step up and be the carry if Reformed wants to do anything this season. On paper, I don’t think this series will be close at all but anything can happen in Plat so who knows. I think if Azure isn’t going against one of the top ADCs in plat he will be fine so I think we will have the advantage vs Ziggie in their head to head.
Monkeys Construction vs Conduit Crashout - Conduit should be able to bounce back this week and get their first win vs a weak Monkeys Construction team. I thought this Monkeys team was going to be good going into the season, but after falling over like a dead dog in week 1 I am skeptical of them. I will be watching BIG NEWS vs Cyclone in the mid lane as Cyclone is a key factor for this Conduit team and BIG NEWS has to carry if Monkeys wants to be anything. We’ll see what these 2 teams can do as they both look for their first win.
Maelstrom Platinum vs The High Council - Two teams who managed to pick up a win in week 1 but one of them looked better than the other. I think The High Council is a better overall team then Maelstrom from what I have seen from both of their gameplay. I thought that High Council would be one of the bottom teams in BOL, but they proved me wrong after week 1. I will be looking at mid lane of Zelmac going against Forty, and after how Forty played last week this will be a tough match up for Zelmac. I think a win for either team will be huge for their season and I think it will be close between these two teams.
Zaun -
Dorado Lambda vs Monkeys Sharks - I am going to be watching mid lane of Yukino vs Efron, 2 solid mids who will looks to be the key factor to their team winning this week. Despite losing last week Efron still looked good across the 2 games while Yukino carried in his 2 games for the Sharks. Both of these players favor control mages and look to scale up into the game, so jungle and support ganks will be huge for this head to head. I am curious if Pwguin will look good again this week, or if he will struggle into a stronger Dorado team.
Contingent Purple vs Conduit Kraken - Kraken should have a pretty easy win this week going up against Contingent Purple, but I will be looking in on NeonSword vs ChromeAlone. Chrome played wonderful last week, even in the one game his team did lose. Neon looked good in their one game win and looked okay in the two loses. This bot lane matchup will be pivotal as Chrome is the main win condition for Kraken but if Neon can neutralize him or be better in the 2v2 it will be a big boon for Contingent. I think this is a huge task for Contingent but if they are able to even get a game of Kraken, who I think is a top team in BOL atm, it will be a huge confidence boost and potential momentum swing for them.
TPO Redacted vs Conduit Flux - For this match up I will be looking at the head to head of the junglers. Aminarc had a good game 1 last week but wasn’t the best in game 2 and 3 but neither was the rest of Flux. Pelli made sure to yap a lot after getting his first series win while he wasn’t a factor in either of their teams wins. I think Aminarc is the better jungler between the two and that Flux is the better overall team so I assume that they will step their game backup and prove that this week, but TPO will look to surprise us all again and get another win vs one of the teams I rank rather highly in BOL Plat. I think which every jungler can help get their team ahead or their team gets their team ahead they will be able to carry their team across the finish line, but I am favoring Aminarc around this matchup.
Monkeys Inc. vs Eclipse Valkyries - I will be honing in on the bot lane match up. Last time Grim and Fox were in BOL they were a top half bot lane but are off to a rough start this season. Furdi and tiny9ny were solid in their BOL debut and I think Furdi is showing that he is a top half ADC in Plat. Him and Grim have similar play styles so whoever can get the advantage in lane will be a key play to their team winning. If Grim and Fox look their their old selves it will be hard for the Valkyries bot lane to be effective, but I think that Furdi and tiny9ny can do a solid enough job to control them. These teams are looking to prove that they should be top half teams of the league and a win this week will be big to making that happen.
