The Storm Watch Spring 2025 Week 4

Hello everyone and welcome to this week's Storm Watch. As always I am Storm or CTRL ULT ELITE your colour commentator and official content poster. For those who do not know who I am here's some information about me! I have been an avid league fan my entire life after I stopped playing AAA hockey. I started playing the game shortly after it launched(a week out of Open Beta). I got into competitive play in my University days after having my ping go from over 90 down to 7 playing on my University team as a starting support and even ran an amateur series in my province(State in CanadaLand) for a year before hunkering down to finish my Computer Science Degree. After I graduated, I learned about other amateur leagues like BOL and started to play in them. When Bully asked for content writers several years ago I stepped up as I had written some articles for Yugioh sites and Fantasy Hockey and always enjoyed doing it. I have won BOL Emerald on Mint Spark, made some deep playoff runs in various leagues and after ranking out of the league decided to focus on providing content, becoming the color commentator and continuing to write for you all.
This week is one of my favourites every year it's the Questionnaire edition where I ask you the People your thoughts on the league and some questions to get to know you all better. I received 34 responses, which is great to see! I did have someone impersonating others and sending me some hate, so it looks like I am going to have to start collecting emails or something. If you see yourself in these replies and did not fill this out reach out to me and I can take your answers off! Starting next week I will be introducing a new segment the Upset of the Week where I ask for your votes to determine a series I cover in depth, watching all the games in that series and going over the blunders and triumphs of teams.
Questionaire Answers
Which Division do you think look strongest this season(will have the most teams in the top 8)
Demacia being the “Group of Death” seems to be a fairly clear concesus from our players this season with 60% of the vote. Interestingly enough, Noxus had almost no one from that Division vote for it and came in second, showing that a lot of teams are looking at the top teams in Noxus as real contenders.
Which Division do you think look weakest this season(will have the least teams in the top 8)
More or less unanimous that everyone agrees that the Freljord is the group of life this season and probably the group you hope to draw or pick in the playoff race.
What teams other than your own would you put in the S tier(aka teams that will make the SemiFinals)?
Mint CrashOuts and the Winion’s Winions clearly look like the teams that everyone thinks are easily the favourites halfway through our regular season, with a ton of votes and specific answers relating to them. Our defending champions, The Shattered Spire as well as the Soot Sprites also round out what I would consider to be the people's choice of the S tier teams. I am interested to hear hopefully on Otter Talk why some of the other higher-seeded teams received so few Votes like TTM Aegaeon and Conduit Sun.

Mint Crashouts was just in Titan Eternal league finals, another fearless format emerald league. They have the same team but with an upgrade mid with Zuiy. Team is just really strong and may not drop a series all season.
TSI is on a tear right now and I wouldn't want to face them. I know many of those players from /all and other leagues and they are just a really solid team kind of flying under the radar right now.
Bing Chillers we just faced and were the favorites to win it all. Despite the loss they are still a very strong team and shouldn't be kicked out of the top tiers just yet. They are still going to steamroll all the weak Noxus teams and probably beat the other two top teams in the division.

I think that alot of these teams have the ability to make deep runs given the right Circumstances.
2 of the teams, ttm and NQG I think are a bit sleeper, and have been a work in progress for a while. They have systems in place that I THINK can make it far if they find the right pieces at the right times going into b05 fearless formats

These 10 champions are the most picked champions currently in season 13 of BOL Emerald. Who do you think was also on this most-picked list in season 11 of BOL?
So of the 10 listed champions 4 of them were correct with Jinx, Nautilus, Ahri and Braum being in the top 10 pick ban presence in season 11 as well as this season. The other 6 contested picks that season were Volibear, Maokai, Rell, Smolder, Aatrox, and Karma. Most people correctly identified that Jinx has been a high priority for a long time and quite a few people guessed Nauliuts as well. But Eros of TSS and Jake from the Crashouts were both the closest with 3 of the 4 correct champions picked!

Sinja Superstar Mid of TSI - Hard to tell. I carry early games sometimes and just blow games out of proportion. Karn gives the team much needed direction. RJ is always getting a bunch of gold but has his bad games. CZI is the weakside king. I'd say either me or Karn at the moment.

canela mid for SYN Soot Sprite - Boxier has shown up in big moments especially vs Big Chillers, some hero plays secured us that series win in that pivotal week.

What do you think your team needs to work on the most?
When fearless was first introduced to BOLE and I asked this question, expanding your champion pool for fearless was by far the most picked answer its really interesting to see that only 1 person responded that way this season. It was a pretty even split among most of the other answers and teammates were split. The only team that all answered the same was Mint, where all of them thought they needed to work on their drafting.

Results of Last Week
As much as I want to sit and write about every series that happened, I do not have the time to do so! Of the 16 predictions I made last night I got 13 correct. The series that I got wrong were Conduit Sun beating Monkeys Cheers, Team Mid Only beating Monkey Manor and No Quarter Gaming defeating Conduit. Upset of the Week
Going forward to try and familiarise myself more with each team, I am going to watch what I think was a major upset each week and provide my take on what happened going in-depth over the games and drafts. I am planning on making a poll every Thursday in the official content channel that will let you guys vote on which series I should cover. I will give an MVP of the match and a Sprinter of the series and reach out to the winning team with some interview questions. Unfortunately, replays have expired this week so I will not be covering any upsets this week.
Predictions for This Week
Elysium Encore Vs. SYN TBD
My Prediction: 2-1 for Elysium Encore
With both of these teams recently losing series and sitting with a currently negative record Elsyium Encore and SYN TBD are in a very important matchup tonight with both teams needing every point they can get in the group of Death. Both teams lost last week without a win despite being competitive in their games and with Conduit Sun surging it's looking more and more likely that one of these teams will miss the playoffs. I think this series is actually a coin flip when it gets down to it as long as both teams have their full rosters. Sean and Guo on the side of SYN TBD have had some great stats and games where whereas WaterCat and Dilly on the side of Encore have also had some incredible games. But what this series comes down to and why I have Elsyisum winning is that Guo has not been nearly as dominant as I thought they would for SYN TBD. The games on them tonight Duddybrainzz has been incredibly low resource playing tanks and supports all season in the jungle. Guo does not just need to win but to actually carry and I think the overall scaling of Elysium will prevail.
Blue Saber Wolves Reborn Vs Monkeys Cheers
My Prediction: 2-0 for Monkeys Cheers
The Blue Saber Wolves were able to pick up their first series win last week again Draconic Spire but all of the problems I talked about in my primer for this team are still here. Mystic at ADC and Crash in Mid lane have been very good for this team but Shadow in the jungle and Emeraldz in the top lane have both struggled to find their footing. Monkeys Cheers has the talent in the top side of INSRTUMENT and PacaPaul to get some big leads going and I do not think that Mystic will get the same sort of lead he did last week and be able to carry his team.
Monkey's Paw Vs Draconic Spire
My Prediction: 2-1 for Draconic Spire
Draconic Spire continues to slide down the rankings after losing their series and getting slammed in their losses by an also-struggling Blue Saber Wolves team. Monkeys Paw despite taking a 2-0 did not have a clean series win either. Having a game that is incredibly close when someone is 1-17 on the enemy team is legitimately impressive. Monkeys Paw is relying too much on Maze and I am calling the Upset here Draconic Spire is going to take a series thanks to Gyser and Saleor linking up.
Conduit Sun Vs MINT Crashouts
My Prediction: 2-1 for Mint Crashouts
So why do I have what should probably be the most hype matchup of the week as a win for the favourites? Is it that Conduit Sun are playing badly? No they are doing quite well, drafting smart, cohesive team compositions that make sense in the draft and individuals are stepping up above where I thought they could. But I think Mint just has that special sauce. Jake and Spuds have been the better duo every lane they have player this year, P Dawg in the top lane with draft resources is playing counterpicks incredibly well and Poom and Spuds are willing to throw themselves into the meat grinder. It's not that Conduit Sun are massive underdogs and have to prove themselves; they have done that already as little as last week. Mint Crashouts, I would bet on a 2-0 regular season win against every single team in BOLE I think they simply are better players than anyone else when there is none of the playoff pressure.
Original SYN Vs Monkeys Manor
My Prediction: 2-0 for Orginal SYN
Orignal SYN despite taking a bad loss last week still looks to be a team where everything fits together and the team is firing on all cylinders. Butrzz has looked incredible in multiple games irving that they can step up when needed. McFeeds is the teams rock at support while Zedd has proven when given space he can end games as well. Monkeys Manor are a team where I think we are just putting all the shapes through the round hole. It works and they fit there but it is not their true home. Monkeys Manor are just taking their players and going ok we picked Jinx Mite its Lulu time. Or putting Ferromancy onto tank junglers these are just things we know these players do not excel at. For Monkeys Manor to start climbing the ranks and have a shot at making playoffs I want to see this team try to play to their strengths but Orignal SYN is not a good team to test yourself against.
Team Mid Only Vs Syndicate Soot Sprites
My Prediction: 2-0 for Syndicate Soot Sprites
With a new ADC in OnS3t Team Mid only seems to have turned themselves into more of a Dive team that looks to punish people out of position. The entire team looked great last week against Monkeys Manor even Richard at support had a great showing providing the initial engage and CC. The problem is Soot proved in their first couple weeks of play that they are elite at disengage and I think this just looks like a bad matchup. Look for QERW at support and BoxierSquirrel in the top lane to provide some major differences this series.
Goon Squad Gaming Vs Maelstrom Esports
My Prediction: 2-1 for Goon Squad
This series is incredibly hard to call as both these teams are currently winless. But heres the great thing tonight you guys have probably your most fun matchup of the year playing a team that is close to your ELO in all roles. I am taking Goon Squad this evening as they have played all their games this season showing that they still have a winners mentality and look to have cleaned up their drafts.
Bing Chillers Winsons Winions Vs The Shattered Spire
My Prediction: 2-1 for The Shattered Spire
Listen even with just about putting Winsons Winions in their S tier with me you cannot deny that the team has disappointed so far this year losing a close series to the Soot Sprites and not getting to see this team play. The Shattered Spire has yet to drop a game and is putting in the work. Look for WitchAtBlackMass on the side of TSS to be one of the key players tonight with so many draft options available to them, who knows what comp TSS will form around them.
Jolly Rogers Flying Dutchman Vs Tilt World Enders
My Prediction: 2-1 for Tilt World Enders
I watched this Tilt Team collapse in upon itself last stream in an epic fashion throwing an immense gold and kill lead. A mental reset of epic proportions is needed and playing the team in your division without a game win is the chance to rebuild it. Jolly Rogers are certainly not just going to sit there this team is taking dragons and towers. Waymo in the top lane has had some good individual games as well committing to their top lane split push style and SeaCat has the best KP as a jungler on this squad. I dont think that this Jolly Rogers team matches up particularly well but Tilt does as their name suggests and has left some games with truly miserable chances overcommitting again and again. I am looking to see if StarBurrito in the mid lane for Tilt can step up and land some of these game-changing ultimates that they are drafting.
Dorado Gaming Mu Vs XSV Gluttony
My Prediction: 2-0 for XSV Gluttony
I was quite impressed with XSV Gluttony and had them pegged as one of the best teams in BOLE coming into this season. With 14 points this team can still prove to me that they are indeed a heavy playoff favourite but needs a solid win here. Dorado Gaming is a team that looks to be fighting for the 4th spot in this group that is currently very contested. Dorado I do have high hopes fo Nintendo4ever looks to be the bright spot on this team at ADC as KoraXTC has never recaptured the magic that they had in game 2 of week 1.
TTM Aegaeon Vs Team Solo Invade
My Prediction: 2-1 for TTM
With such a high level of play shown off in the past 2 weeks from Team Solo Invade I cannot believe that I am picking TTM to win this series. Everything stat-wise points to TSI winning TTM dropped a game to the Goons and has beaten two teams that are struggling with the Jolly Rogers and TILT. TSI is coming off 2 huge wins back to back and with some incredible solo performances like Sinja’s Akali game, Smokes Darius in game 3 or Just RJ dominating on their Aphelios. But when I look I for some reason like the look of the comps that TTM is drafting more. There is clear win conditions to keep in mind with the draft the ability for players to play as weakside or strong like Taunty2k playing Kled and Urgot but also Ornn and Sion.
XSV Greed Vs Monkeys Goons
My Prediction: 2-0 for XSV Greed
Monkeys Goons are not drafting the way that I expected of them and are not looking very good. DoV Ice at ADC has had some good games but Nightmarehall and alvs2 have looked rough not having positive KDA scores generally even while on carries. XSV Greed on the other hand seems to be doing everything right playing their unique counterpicks and letting Borther Otter put the work in on his late game scaling monsters and poke mage so this series should be thiers for the taking.
Golden Geese Vs Glacial Spectre
My Prediction: 2-0 for Glacial Spectre
You can all honk at me all you want in the general chat this Golden Geese team is more what I know of Geese threatening looking but honestly nothing dangerous and constantly shits itself. The Golden Geese have never gotten more than 3 towers in a game and have gotten 0 in a few games as well. I am Bubble ended their last game at 4-0-1 when his team had 7 kills so look at the mid lane to provide the cobra chicken bite. Glacial has quietly had a good season they beat AKH and were able to take a game off of Bloom. With a thrashing of Defintley not Hurakan last week I can trust Glacial to make the top 4 of this group and this should be an easy 6 points.

Listen I think we can all agree that we are here to play. Im sorry if there was a legitimate reason for your surrender last week but to me its a punk move showing you do not respect yourself and AK Hearts enough to have a full series. Despite that this Kittens With Mittens rebrand gets my vote to win tonight as the only human players on Definitely Not Hurakan are Snooflepoof at ADC and Storm in the top lane(THIS IS NOT ME).
Streamed Game: Conduit Gremlins Vs. Bloom Gaming Wiseria
My Prediction: 2-1 for Bloom Gaming
After getting beaten to a pulp by No Quarter gaming last week I think most of us are a little hesitant with how good this Conduit Team really is. Did Mei and Aes just have an off night? Or is this a sign that Conduit are a team that are winning from their laning against bad teams? There is not a lot of traditional meta things you see on this team, and my confidence in them has been shaken. Gvgnumber1 is playing their game on assassins and burst mages to get Pienei Nessa Poha going and I want to see them have more objective control because of it. Letting your opposition average 2-3 dragons a game when you have an incredibly fed jungler just looks wrong and shows me that Conduit are flipping objectives instead of setting up properly. Bloom Gaming have also had some struggles Gabreil Leo in mid have had some really bad inconsistency. They have games like their 2-10-2 game as Veigar but also dominate in that series gong 9-1-8 as Cho Gath Mid. Wren and Cheongsmelo in bot lane looks to be this teams best bet to play through so I hope to see Karthrall pathing bot lane this series. Overall I think that Bloom has beaten some good teams for this group and a win tonight more or less locks them into 1st seed coming out of the Freljord so they are my pick to win.
AK Hearts Vs. No Quarter Gaming
My Prediction: 2-1 No Quarter Gaming
That hurt me to write above. I am a die-hard AK Hearts fan and truly believe that Okami is the difference maker and an incredible player overall but I think that No Quarter Gaming with their win last night, close series against Bloom and a win over Conduit has shown that this team is a real deal team for the Freljord group. I still do not trust the rest of this Ak Hearts roster enough even though pawjob or whatever they name changed to ADC is playing well and Sycosghost in the top lane is doing well on the weakside I think that NQG has the raw firepower to challenge at every fight and not give this team the room they need to setup with the dominant artillery mages and scaling picks they have won with.
